Oct 2024: Remembrance We relaunched Krafty Kids with a bang! We were proud to welcome the national chairman of the Airborne Engineers Association, WO2 Wallis, as our guest speaker. Krafty kids created handprint representations of Flanders Fields, made paper plate poppies and clebrated the change of the seasons with autumnal leaf rubbings. WO2 Wallis shared his own experiences in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, talked about his medals and his family history of sacrifice and service, before giving all attending children the chance to hold the national standard. A special shout out to young Noah from our parish school, who’s dedicated handprint poppy was attatched to the wreath laid at the Cenotaph during the National Act of Remembrance

Following the re-ordering of the Church it is intended that Crafty Kids will re-commence after the old entrance porch
has been re-ordered to include furniture and fittings suitable
for the use of a Youth Ministry, including Crafty Kids Corner.

DURING THE SEASON OF LENT INSTEAD OF 'GIVING UP' SOMETHING FOR LENT OUR CRAFTY KIDS 'TOOK ON' SOMETHING' -
THE IDEA OF 40 DAYS AND 40 TINS WAS BORN.
THE IDEA WAS TAKEN UP BY THE WHOLE PARISH
THEY COLLECTED 1 TIN PER DAY AND THEN BROUGHT 40 TINS TO THE CHURCH DURING LENT.
WHILST TINNED FOOD IS THE FIRST THING ONE THINKS OF THESE ITEMS ALSO INCLUDED PERSONAL HYGIENE GOODS OR THINGS TAILORED TOWARDS YOUNGER CHILDREN.
THESE WERE GIVEN AS A GIFT FROM THE ST SAVIOUR'S CHURCH
TO THOSE IN NEED, THROUGH THE RAINBOW CENTRE.
