OPEN DAY
10.00am – 2.00pm
You are warmly invited to an Open Day at St Saviour’s Church, to view the work that has been going on during this past 18 months.
We have been re-ordering the building to make it more suitable for today’s needs, with worship and social areas within the building. There is now a Community Room within the Church together with kitchen and toilets, and we thought you may like to come and see the changes that have been made. It is a good space that we would like to be used for local social events. The outside has seen some improvements too and we hope that people will use the bench to enjoy that outside space. |
We will be offering light
refreshments throughout the opening time. Our weekly services are Sundays at 11 am a sung Mass Thursdays at 10.00 am a said Mass both followed by tea or coffee. For information regarding Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals or any other matter please contact: Father David Dixon t 01723 363 828 m 07891 195 091 e [email protected] |
Dr Philip Moore, Organist Emeritus, York Minster, will be giving an Organ
Recital at St Martin’s Church, Scarborough on Friday 8th of September at 7:00pm.
Tickets at £10 (which will include a complimentary glass of wine/fruit drink and light refreshments)

Children and school age young people will be admitted free of charge.
St Martin’s church has a superb Father Willis organ and we look forward to an evening of glorious music
played by one of Europe’s most eminent organists and composers.
The organ recitals are a super evening out and socialising afterwards is always most enjoyable.

Mass at Rievaulx Abbey.
Fr. David celebrated a said mass at Rievaulx Abbey
on Monday 11th July at 11am.
About 18 members of both Parishes attended, as well as some other pilgrims who happened to be there at the time. Both the Staff at Rievaulx and other {Pilgrims expressed delight in finding a live serbvice happening.
This was followed by coffee and a brief look round Rievaulx,
then lunch at the Blacksmiths Arms, Lastingham.
Thereafter we visited St. Mary’s Church and crypt, Lastingham,
and Evensong was said.
It was a great day and the weather remained fair.
Today, 19th May 2022,
we were pleased to welcome Mr Johnson, Miss Walker and a delegation from Gladstone Road School.
The children brought donations with them to finish of this year's Lent Mission of "40 Days, 40 Tins"
the children then had a quick tour of the church.
They were particularly fascinated by the stations of the cross
and enjoyed asking questions about the Church building and our Christian Faith.
