Benefice New Year Lunch
The Downe Arms at Wykeham
Nearly 60 members of the Benefice enjoyed Lunch and fellowship
at the Downe Arms
Christmas 2019 Sock Appeal -
with a twist. To support those in our Community who are homeless or in need over the festive season we have some pairs of thick winter socks available from the PCC (or buy a pair) then fill one sock with toiletries - toothpaste, tooth brush, roll on deodorant (alcohol free), soap, travel showergel/shampoo and cereal bars and so on but no sharps please.
Use the second sock as a lid and hand the result to a member of the PCC by mid December. Many thanks - Ashlie.

and a good time was had by all present.

Walsingham Day at St Martin's Church
10.00 am Coffee for 10.30 am start (concluding by 4.00 pm)
there were presentations and discussions about Walsingham as a place of Pilgrimage; the significance of
Mary, 'Our Lady of Walsingham'; the liturgies of sprinkling and healing that are offered at Walsingham;
the fellowship enjoyed on pilgrimage and how pilgrimage can help us grow spiritually.
There was a Sung Mass at 12 noon followed by a bring and share lunch.
In the afternoon, healing ministry as offered at Walsingham was offered
and the day concluded with a procession and Benediction.

Memorable Miscellany of Music
Another fun afternoon with a Concert including a shortened version of Trial by Jury
This was a stunning concert attended by over
60 people and raised more than £400
towards Church Funds
DURING THE SEASON OF LENT INSTEAD OF 'GIVING UP' SOMETHING FOR LENT OUR CRAFTY KIDS 'TOOK ON' SOMETHING' -
THE IDEA OF 40 DAYS AND 40 TINS WAS BORN.
THE IDEA WAS TAKEN UP BY THE WHOLE PARISH
THEY COLLECTED 1 TIN PER DAY AND THEN BROUGHT 40 TINS TO THE CHURCH DURING LENT.
WHILST TINNED FOOD IS THE FIRST THING ONE THINKS OF THESE ITEMS ALSO INCLUDED PERSONAL HYGIENE GOODS OR THINGS TAILORED TOWARDS YOUNGER CHILDREN.
THESE WERE GIVEN AS A GIFT FROM THE ST SAVIOUR'S CHURCH
TO THOSE IN NEED, THROUGH THE RAINBOW CENTRE.
